Our family’s journey is one shared by many Cubans who lived under fear and impossible choices. Survival often meant silence, sacrifice, and doing what you had to do to protect the people you loved. This story follows our path out of Cuba, the separation and uncertainty along the way, and the moment we were finally reunited in the United States. It’s built from family memories, interviews, and recordings so our truth isn’t lost, and so the next generation understands what carried us through: faith, love, family, and the belief that freedom is something every human being deserves.
